| Member Level 1 | Hello Everyone, Question: Since Google seems to give some weight to Title tags, is it a good idea to keep the title tag the same for every page of your site (keeping with an identical "theme", so to speak), or is it better to have differing title tags on every page? Sorry if this question is so basic for you old-timers out there........but just trying to understand this better. | ||

| Member Level 1 | I think this is very good..a different title/desc on all pages. It is strategy to optimise the site on different keywords. It is also neccessary to avoid presenting duplicate content to SE and Directories | ||

| Junior Member | I generally go for a consistent style of title tag, for example 'Keywords | Company Name' or 'Company Name - Keywords' | ||

The other thing to remember for search is that the title tag is very important in explaining what that individual page is all about so it needs to be descriptive of the content. For effective SEO you can also think about including your keywords or phrases but in a naturally reading way because the other thing to remember is that if a search is done in one of the search engines, your title tag is the thing that is displayed (as well as your meta description in most cases) so the title tags also acts like an advert for that web page. Hope that helps. | ||

| Member Level 2 | Yes, that's very correct... All pages should have their respective title tag depending upon the content of the page... your title should be most relevant with page, it should describe the page, you should always have title tag for visitors and not for spider for gaining SEO benifits; if you mess your title with unnecessary keywords then your visitor may feel your page useless and may skip.... | ||
