I am working on a new project with a little strange name but actually it doesn't really matter. What it is supposed to do is help web directory owners on promoting there directory and directory users to help find "alive" directories and discounts on submissions.
Since we all know that most users don't only submit to one directory it's time to start working as a team to help each other and our visitors. With x0x0x you can have you special offers (a little discount on your current submission prices for like a day or two) seen on other directories in our network.
What can x0x0x do for web directory owners:
* Help you on promoting your directory
* Increase number of paid submissions on your site
* Get a chance to team up with other directory owners
* It's free now and it always will be
Everything is really simple. Directory owners who join this network can write about there directory(s) on our page and with a simple javascript that fetches info from our RSS feed you can show latest offers published in your directory. All posts are reviewed by an editor before they are published.

There are lots of websites that promote directories, sites like these really seem to be around for only a little while.

Not to anger you in any way, but what makes your site different? also how are you planning on getting your website out there in the internet world, and how is the website going to get funded if its free?

I actually didn't find any other directory promotion service like this and if there are I can still try

As for money this is my free time project I did this for fun and not for money. Hosting is covered by other projects.

For promotion I am contacting web directory owners but like you said sites like this usually die fast so I can't say I get a lot positive replies. Maybe people will see with time that this is here to stay and that it actually could be useful. For now there are 5 directories (3 are mine ) in this network and this site is 3 days old so it doesn't even look that bad.

Sounds like you have done some great resourch on the matter and looks like you know what you are doing, As for the site look I like it also. I wish you lots of look and I will be taking a good look over your website ASAP
