I'm not sure this is in the right section, but I'm sure it'll get moved accordingly.
I'm looking for some quick information on press releases.

What exactly is the point of press releases?
Who reads them? How do they work? Is it worth writing/buying one?

I would say that a PR works very well in different ways, but only if they have been done correctly.

A PR can help in a number of ways like, getting traffic and getting your name out onto the internet. Also off site SEO I beleive there good for as you aim at your subject and for serton keywords you website uses then because your link is added to the PR and the PR is added to the PR website you get classed a a related link to your website. I have had my PR's go in google and yahoo news then people copy these PR's for placing on there website.

Press release is a type of service which is used for announcing anything.
Your Article of announcement is being announced in TOP sites.

Wow, that is a nice list of press release sites.

You know back in the old school days there was a guy who made millions out of posting his site on every press release site he could find. This was before everyone realised you had to get links to your site to make it go higher in the search engines.

I've added that site to my favourites lol
