Anyway we all know how people make wordpress themes, sell footer links and then submit template to some free wordpress templates site and all that....yes ?

What I found out is that I don't like to sell footer links or anything since people don't like n links in the footer and I agree it is stupid.

So what I do.

Simply, no hussle ! I make xhtml/css template and submit it only to opendesigns.org , openwebdesign.org and oswd.org
I also put that xhtml/css template for free on some of my websites with good traffic so it gets exposure.

In the footer I only put Design by X ( me, my site I want to promote ) and thats it. Most people leave that Design by link in the footer. I don't care for those who don't. Use it people. I can always brag that I designed it later even without footer link. A lot of people email me if they have to keep the footer link. I say if you don't want to just delete and use it like you want. Do what you want with it, tear it apart or whatever. Guess what ! I get something in return usually even if they delete link. They either link to me from somewhere else or give me some work to do...usually that is custom template which is of course paid good.

Anyway I get tons of links this way to my sites since I made xhtml/css template and didn't bother with wordpress or whatever cms there is that needs templates. But hey people slowly start converting to other cms and oh boy you get VISITORS, you get PR, and you get EXPOSURE. Lots of business, huge adsense and templatemonster check, etc

It takes time but it is good. It is SEO, it is Marketing and it is Business. Smell of green dollars. My lady is happy, I am happy and I like to keep bees !

I heard about people selling or giving away wordpress themes with the footerlinks and they made good ranking..but your way is much much better!
