Redirect 301 non www to www

Hi!

After reading tons of articles about non www issues I decided to redirect non www to www using 301.

Now I am wondering if I made a mistake or not. What do you guys think about redirecting?

Tested CNN they have a redirect, tested mlpitstop.co.uk and it doesent.. Who is right?

I have read alot of thinks about that as well mostly all good, the main thing for using it is

- to make sure people know that they should have the www on or off your url just incase they copy and paste your url some ware

- then because of the above that helps with PageRank (PR)

after reading them if you check a website with PR with the www on and the www off you will or should see a PR drop. I wouldnt worry to much and I cant see my self it doing any harm, I have even been meaning to do it my self.

If I am wrong please some one rise above me and strike me down
