Things you can do on your site to help:

1. use the 'alt' tag on your images
In your HTML code, <img src="link" alt="Description or a lot of keywords">

2. Meta Description
Use a meta description tag. These will help and this is what shows up on Google when users are seraching for your site. Be sure to include any major keywords and be very clear as to what your site is about. Write the description in sentence form

I see alot of people go for this digitalpoint but I have to say there forum is down to often for me, I go on there look around then the page has an error or cant be found, what is that going to say about there network (sorry I wouldnt trust it)

I have one SEO tip and I think its a very good one:

Look around the internet, take in what others are doing and do one better. Dont take in what people like Matt Cutts says, I really think people take to much in on what he says and other people like him!!! yer so what he works for google but he only can give out info that is allready on the internet he has to pass it all through the big G first and who says he isnt lieing just to make people do the wrong things (you don't know do you).

We have all seen how google work, so WHY trust one guy (Matt Cutts) that works for them, and the people that are always going on about him!!! get over him and learn your own way.

Any how less of Matt Cutts and more on to my tip, all you need to know is on the internet DON'T pay for any info its not needed, and one good tip is read these forums the tips are coming out and there good.

Stickster couple of points.

Digital Point is actually one of the best SEO forums there is out there (and V7) with so many webmasters around the world adding their 10 cents worth - even the Google Adsense team make a point of posting there.

The reason why you are seeing those errors is because Shawns (DP owner) servers have been hit exremely heavy by the amount of users logging on at one time. He is currently working hard to have them upgraded.

If one doesnt read and take in what Matt Cutts has to say how are we supposed to know new things that Google are doing with their bots? Or why Google may de-index us from their Serps? The way I see it is dont listen to what anyone has to say about Google unless they work for Google....Google is very secret about their inner workings so most things running around the internet are only theories.

But I do see your point in getting caught up in the Matt Cutts hype

Ah by the way my tip for the tread.....

SEO can take time and patience and lots of testing - if you SEO to rank in Google be in it for the long run.

2. Write articles
You can write articles and submit them into enzine services, like GoArticles.com.

3. Forums
Write a lot on forums and have link to your site in your signature.

If you do that, your PageRank will be at min. 3.
