| MK PitStop Member | Almost every SE under the sun gives you the option to search for images on the web. As a webmaster, this can be a blessing and a curse. First of all, it is a curse when it comes to people stealing your image content. But then, who are we to throw the first stone? Then comes the quality of traffic angle. Normally, people looking for an image on the web are looking only for the image and won’t spend any more time on your site. The fact that your site is most often displayed in a frame below a top “navigation” frame that gives the surfer all the options he needs to display your image in full size doesn’t help. Using that frame, the user does not even have to interact with your site at all. On the other hand, having your site display prominently in the image searches can give you some nice trafffic.

| Member Level 1 | I actually think image search traffic is a really good idea. Has anyone used the new image tagging service in Googles XML sitemaps?

| Member Level 3 | Yeah that idea may work for some and may not work out for some people. The drawback of having images on a site is the slow loading time which may irritate the visitor causing them to leave the site. | ||

As images can gain traffic I my self would never try and make it my main source or traffic and I would never spend time working on it, I would just let that source come in on its own. | ||

| Member Level 2 | I will work hard to optimise my images for getting traffic only if m selling them; i will watermark all of them so that they are not stolen. If you are to sell you images then you can otimise them for search engines and you get your targetted traffic. | ||
