We have all probably heard about the so called Google Sandbox at some point when surfing webmaster forums, but is it fact or fiction? There has never been any official acknowledgement that the Sandbox actually exists, and while I have no doubt there is some kind of delaying factor for listing new sites, does / did the Sandbox exist? | ||

I have never experienced a delay in getting new sites listed providing they have some decent backlinks. However, several sites I have worked with have gone through the same pattern: popped almost immediately into the SERPs then dropped several pages back after few days to a week. Eventually, they came back up after a couple of months. Whether this can be regarded as the infamous "sandbox", I'm not sure, but that's all I have personally seen with new sites.

Fiction, at least for us. We have launched 7 websites and they all ranked fairly quickly... So we never have been sandboxed.
