Title tags on image and text links

I read some articles and ebooks of how people do this for SEO, placing <img alt="xbox 360" title="xbox 360" src=...> for the link of an image file.

Does it have any advantage?

Maybe it helps by getting more visitors to the blog and with that get a higher PR..people tend to click on pictures and this indirectly will produce more traffic..

for sure! cuz it help u to be ranked more easy..by doing that u simply tell the search engine what u r in..as an example u have a picture of salad bowl..and the file name itself, salad bowl.jpg and put some alt tag for the picture..the best salad bowl..<---as an example..it's lot of better than put the name of 1.jpg n without any tag..so the search engine won't know anything on it

Most of the SE's do index the content of image alt attributes and consider that content as part of the page. Most SEOs will advise you to include at least one image, with target keywords in the alt attribute, on all your pages or blog posts.

You will be able to get more and more visitors from Google Image search also. Now a days this one is also taking the pace and many visits are also coming from Google Image search as well.

Yes, it does.... It helps in your sites rankings and it can possibly generate traffic if Google uses your image in its results.
