Yes they do aslong as there isnt a rel="nofollow" eliment added to the link, the other good thing is that if you write a good PR then other people will use it o there website, only a small % will keap the link on them but this will up your inbound links and also traffic.

About the sales side of things yes it can lead to sales if you target the right visits and in the right way, the more PR's you do the more the chance
