| lead programmer says he doubts this quality of lighting could be done on PS3 uses some form of static/pre-baked global illumination, something that cannot really be done completely dynamically on current consoles (even Xbox 360). but the effect pulled off of even static global illumination is awesome. http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0002.JPG http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0003.JPG http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0005.JPG http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0006.JPG http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0007.JPG http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0008.JPG http://koti.mbnet.fi/tiong/convictio...i/IMG_0011.JPG larger versions here: http://mbnet.fi/tiong/conviction/ __________________________________________________ _______ http://tinyurl.com/2yrmx8 http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums...5609743&page=0 Magazine article: - No more sneaking around in the shadows. Apparently you're going to be more like James Bond and infiltrate buildings in plain daylight. You won't have to use force or sneak around as long as you don't act suspiciously. - According to the article, every single object that is rendered on screen has physical properties and most of them can be used by Sam. For example, Sam can pick up furniture and use it as a weapon, or throw printers at enemies or papers in the face of enemies to gain the upperhand in fights. - Melee fights are much more than "press this button to hit" this time around. There's different context sensitive attack buttons and as mentioned before lots of environmental interaction. - Some pretty negative comments about the ps3 made by the devs. They state the fact that they are exclusive to the 360 allows them to do much more than if they were multiplatform (duh) but they also state they doubt they would be able to achieve what they're doing with the game on the 360 on the ps3 even if it was ps3 exclusive. "The lead programmer told the magazine he doubts they would have been able to pull of the lightning effects they have right now on the ps3. That's the only thing they say straight out, but they do state they believe they're much better off on the 360. " __________________________________________________ _________________ | |||

Sounds like that level from Thief:TDP where Garrett infiltrates the Hammer temple as an acolyte: utterly useless level with no replay value. > - According to the article, every single object that is rendered on > screen > has physical properties and most of them can be used by Sam. Physics in games still has a ways to prove with me than anything other than a useless gimmick. (Frankly, I'm about add "crate stacking" to my lists of things that put me off FPS's.)

Point is to practice stealth in a different manner than hiding from the cameras. It is more like a real spy would act, and could lead to more interesting scenarios and gameplay. Assassin's Creed is also supposed to go into this. A stealth/spy title needs to be more than just a game of hide and sneak/seek. > > - According to the article, every single object that is rendered on > > screen > > has physical properties and most of them can be used by Sam. It will depend on how it works. If there is a realistic enviroment you can interact with in a realistic manner, that lends to more immersion. - The Rich

| As usual, **** weed, your bias towards the **** box has clouded you cum filled eyes once again. " According to a Finnish gamer on the PS3Forums, he claims, "Well that's pretty faulty translation. The dev never says, that the game wouldn't be possible on the ps3. He only states that IF they would have gone multiplatform, they would have to change the lightning effects radically because of the differences of coding for each consoles. He actually says nothing bad about the PS3." http://n4g.com/News-38137.aspx http://ps3forums.com/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=105 You should really do some proper research before embarrassing yourself repeated, you little ****ing **** stain.
