| Hi, I know it is possible to migrate an Xbox 1 live account to the 360, but can't find a straight answer on the following. I have an original Xbox starter kit card (12-month) that I have not yet used. I've got a 360, where I already have a silver account (and did the 1 month free trial), and a bunch of achievements. I'd like to use my Xbox card to activate live on a 360. My questions are: Will my original Xbox Live code work on the 360 if I enter it? If I enter the code (assuming it works) to get a gold membership on the 360, can I also play Xbox live on the original Xbox for those games that don't work? I suppose I could just create a new Xbox 1 account and migrate it, but then I'd lose all my achievements. Thanks! fsm 2k2 at ya hoo dot com | |||

| The Xbox Live account is for either the original Xbox or Xbox 360. I use my 360 most of the time, but if there's a game which isn't converted to the 360 format, I'll simply switch the Ethernet cable from the 360 to the original, and go online. -- Chris H. | Thanks for the reply. Did you originally have an Xbox 1 account though? I don't...only a 360 Silver. So I suppose what I want to do is use the Xbox 1 starter kit membership on the 360, which I think will work. However I don't know that entering that code onto the 360 will allow me to play Xbox 1 games, ie. enable it for both systems. There's lots of info for people who have an Xbox 1 account, and want to migrate it to Xbox 360. I'm going the other way. I haven't even scratched off the Xbox 1 card yet, so I'm not sure where to enable it...on the 360 or the Xbox 1. I tried calling their tech support, and unbelievably, they knew less than I do! [...] To take an migrate an xbox account to a 360 you must attach the windows live id because when you go to "recover gamertag" it will ask for the windows live id. to get a 360 gold account onto an xbox you must attach credit card info because the xbox will verify credit card info to recover the gamertag. you can move the account around, it just has to be a gold account with a credit card on file which is associated with a windows live id. -Thufir | |||
