wallpaper tutorials?

hi guys!

I really love to make graphics, but there's one think I suck at: Wallpapers.
Does anyone of you know some good tutorials?
I'd love to know, please tell me!

Emma Watson Wallpaper Tutorial
Ok we are going to make this Wallpaper:



First open this imagehttp://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d194/emmagirl_401us/Tutorial1/tut1.gif
This will be our background.

Now open this image http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...orial1/188.jpg.

Now make a new layer. Go select the Air Brush tool and then go to your layer pallet and go to patterns and find the image and set the Angel to 0 and the Scale to 90. Then click OK.

Air brush so that you only have Emma Watson and not the white back ground hehind her. This is what the you should have once you have finshed painting her in to the image. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...rial1/tut2.jpg

Now go to Layers and "Merge All". So it one layer. At this point you can leave it as it is or add your own personal touches.

hmm.. If I use the 'picture pattern' my image isn't as bg anymore, it re-seize, so if I bruseh over emma, I dont get ONE emma, but one and two parts.. gt what I mean?

Well I make wallpapers the same way I make a banner. You have to find big, high res pictures and make the screen at 50% or something and just make a banner like thing. Wallpapers looked bad cluttered though so don't add as much as you might in a banner.

Finding high res. pics isn't the most difficult part...
It's the 'don't add to much stuff, but still make it look cool'-part that gives me the problems, lol
But I made 2 wallies..yay, my first! one of hem is in my showcase, and the other one is somewhere on my pc, but I dunno exactly where...
