CD8 problems copying and pasting

I'm using Corel Draw 8 on several differnt pc's win2000 and win 98
I'm having problems with copy and paste from one document to the next. This
does not happen in every file or every piece of text or graphics. Sometimes
I get an error message that the file contains an invalid sytle ID other
times Corel will just shut down, under win 200 normally it says it is
creating an error log file, but I have no idea were it is putting it.
Other things I have notice is that text created in "Times new roman" looks a
little thicker than normal. On a document that has had problems I start a
new line of text and compare it to other lines of text (of course with the
same font and settings) they will look the same. but if I creat a line of
text in a new document and copy it to the problem document(s) it has a
differnt look. some lines seam thinner. I have reinstall the times new
roman font family. no help there.
