Bad Colors/Webdesigns

Hey Everyone,


How come there are SO MANY great companies with absolutely horrible webdesigns as it comes to graphics? I'm getting annoyed with them even! One time I even gave a design to a company, because their design was so ugly and pathetic!

What do you guys have to say about this?

I think there are a lot of people on the internet (me, for example) who just like to practise around with graphics. And if they're interested in HTML, they can eventually make their own page. Useless, but fun to do.
That's why there are so many bad webpages

But the thing is, it's on some big companies aswell! Like look on all the companies like ikea for example, or shop related websites in the netherlands ( you prob know them ) alot are to ugly!

probably not, because it looks like a logo and text, and that's it!

i like a little graphics but not to much, alot of sellers just keep there sites plain cos they do marketing and have found that clean looking sites do better than a graphic over loaded website

True madkad, but there is a big difference in a website design that has been created by a graphics person, then someone new to the web!

also they may be thinking about dialup users... but then, what abotu css? are the site really that plain?
