My font file is probably 80mb or so but photoshop still comes up in reasonable time but then I have a fast processor. I suggest that you select the ones you don't want and delete those. You do that in the font file where you installed them. Incidentally if you have IrfanView (if not get it, it is Free Of Charge). You call up the font icon from the settings/controlPanel. Hit enter on the first font and IrfanView will quickly show you the font and samples of printing. Then hit the right arrow and it will go though all the fonts - some of them will surprise you. Delete the ones you don't want or have a little patience - I have seen Photoshop take some considerable time to load fonts on slow machines but is have never seen it hang. Borge For your information, my stats are: Win 2000, Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz 1 Gb memory,ADSL 80+40 GB of disc space,Oly C2100 & Optio S Borge Pedersen :-) Perth, Australia mailto:borge@SPAMbigpond.net.au remove SPAM for email

| There are programs available that you can activate and deactivate fonts as needed and does not eliminate the fonts from your hard drive. A simple click will activate or deactivate due to your preference. I have been using Adobe type Manager but it does not work with xp unless there is an upgrade. Take the font Marlet for example. That font is solely used to provide all the button symbols etc for your windows. Want to try closing anything down with no Minimise/Maximise/Close button, and no file/Edit menu because you've deleted the system display fonts? -- Hecate Hecate@newsguy.com (Fried computers a specialty) | |||

However, if you put all your fonts in the Windows fonts folder to start with, you're asking for trouble. I only keep a small subset of necessary fonts in there. Everything else is right next door in the "Ffonts" folder and is moved in and out on the fly using Bitstream. -- Hecate Hecate@newsguy.com (Fried computers a specialty)
