This question is going to make it obvious I am a newbie to PS. Please
have patience.

I have two photos, that compare two individuals' faces. I want them
side by side in a file. How do I do that?

Thanks.

Make a new image twice the width and same height as one of your two
pictures(I assume they are the same size, if not make them so)
copy and paste your photos into the new image, position them side by side
Flatten image and save
