To Cheat or Not To Cheat

To cheat or not to cheat - that is the darned question!

Do you find fun in cheating or not? If you do, are you offended at all when people brand you as a game cheater?


This question has been often asked in a lot of gaming communities, friendly conversations, and not so friendly conversations but I want to know what you guys think about this.


I cheat, when the going gets tough. It's my game! I can cheat if I want to! Cheat if I want to! Cheeeeat if I want to! *hums* You would cheat too if it happened to you... (would you?)

Multiplayer games are a different matter for me though - it's a lot different when you cheat a darn machine than when you cheat a fellow gamer. To me that's like admitting myself to sissydom.

I dont cheat but then again I do if its a game when I am playing on my own but if its with some one else then no

I don't like to cheat either way. It's unethical to cheat a fellow human, but it's just plain sad to cheat against an inanimate object.

Cheat online? Hack? Anyone who uses hacks needs to go back to playing pong, start from the beginning and come back when you've finished rehab.

If that 'inanimate object' happens to specialize in beating the hell outta players then I don't think it counts. I'm pretty sure every player has encountered this kind of AI, otherwise they wouldn't be as good as they are now.

If you talk about cheats that enable secret features then it's okay. But cheats that involve infinite lives, unlimited ammo... that kind? I don't think it'll benefit the gamer's skills, so to speak. If you want to be real good then push yourself to it. Otherwise, do what you want. It's not like you play games for a living.

Depends, on Consols offline i do for fun. But online multiplayer i dont, its wrong when playing against over players.

But when you are on GTA for example you can create cars for fun

Cheating in SP games, I couldnt care less but when you do it in MP games then you get branded a hacker for life, even if you come out to the community and they accept you again you will always be known as a hacker and people will question your skill at times.

Agreed, cheating in multiplayer games is for idiots. If you need to do that then you need help.

Why would any one want to cheat in games against some one, if your on your own then I could understand it as fun but not for anything else.
