| Member Level 3 | What do you think of video games that are derived from movies, like say The Matrix and Saving Private Ryan? Are they great or they are just easy because you know already what will happen if you have watched the movie? | ||

| V.I.P. Member | The problem with most movie games is that they're too easy, too boring, and too cash-in like. Some exceed their expectations, but most are just terrible, because they have to be rushed to be released simultaniously with the movie it goes with, or just because it's EA that makes it.

| Member Level 1 | Personally I can't wait to play Dr.Who? the game. Players could take control of David Tennant, with his ever-so-annoying teeth gritting, in search of tooth-paste power ups. Co-op would involve a second player controlling Billie Piper with a side quest where she goes in search of some eyebrow pluckers and acting lessons. Final Boss? Series writer and producer Russel T Davies, where in the player must make use of collected scripts from the show and fiercly ram them down his fat, camp throat whilst telling him to go and watch some American sci-fi to see how it should be done. (they don't fart whilst saving the world. Did someone order some extra cheese Mr Davies?) And of course with it being a BBC game naturally u will be charged extra, even tho it was ur money that made it in the first place, but then again it will come in a limited edition tardis tin, whoopedy doo . . . . | ||

I agree. They're probably just after the hype of the movie to get it along with, either to boost its popularity or to generate more sales for either. Or both. (What a confusing paragraph.) Sometimes they really tend to forget about gameplay, don't they? In my experience, there are not a lot of movie games that struck me hard (the Men In Black game didn't nudge me one inch, for instance). But if there were any in my memory right now that hit me hard, it'd be some mobile games. Like War Of The Worlds and King Kong. Those are pretty good mobile games, considering they're based on movies. | |||

| Member Level 3 | A lot of movies based on video games try to follow the movie plot, meaning you already know whats going to happen. They also turn out to be pretty stupid, and the gameplay is the kind of top notch gameplay you would like. Sometimes it seems obvious to stick something like co-op play in a movie game especially if there are two or more main characters, but things like that are usually omitted because of smaller design team and budget, because the game has a smaller target audience. | ||

And it's not that things that could make such games better get left out because they don't have a big enough design team/budget, but it's mostly just time pressure to release it at the same moment the movie is released. rant out

| Member Level 3 | Thats supposed to be isn't the kind of top notch gameplay. I completely agree with you most games made from a movie are for five year olds despite ratings of "teen" | ||

| Member Level 3 | I've never seen a really great game come from a movie. I don't know why game devolopers keep thinking that an awesome movie is a good idea for a game. The game is obviously never going to compare. Give it up already. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | Developers do it because there is a demand for it. They go where the money comes from. For players, probably it is because of the hype that goes along with a movie. Children can never get over Harry Potter, why not play a character in a video game? | ||
