Video games turned into movies

What do you think of them? I've pretty much been disappointed by every one I've seen because the game was better. In my opinion, Angelina Jolie didn't make a convincing Laura Croft. And Resident Evil left much to be desired too. Silent Hill looks hopeful, but I'll probably end up disappointed once again. Has there ever actually been a good movie made from a videogame?

I knew this thread is bound to come up.

I actually enjoyed the Lara Croft movies, just because I didn't play the video games. There have also been comic books turned into video games and then made into movies, such as the X-Men, which I really like. Final Fantasy is another one, but I haven't seen it yet. While my brother was playing FF9, I hoped the storyline will be adapted into a movie. I think it was interesting.

For me, Angelina Jolie got the role perfectly. That's probably the reason why they rendered Lara more like her on Tomb Raider AOD. The real problem with the movie is the plot... it didn't really carry me.

Resident Evil is quite good. They strayed from the actual game and it instantly fell into the list of my fave movies (and soundtracks). Resident Evil Nemesis, however, was a disaster. I don't know why the heck most of them had to survive. They had to die Or at least Alice should have died then and there. But if that was the case then there'd be no more sequels.

Final Fantasy: Advent Children ROCKS. Hands down. You guys should see it. You won't be disappointed. Especially with the way they rendered Aerith. *giggles*
