There are no "legal" and ethical messages to get across that you can't do with eBay messages. Step outside the rules and ethics and you would probably want SMTP so that you don't get caught. Lumpy left out a couple of words and it confused the heck out of you. I doubt that any of the older regulars are not aware of SMTP. Many of us started with Unix/CP/M in the days long before Tim Berners-Lee and his curse.
