I feel ebay is quite safe in terms of buying and selling from both sides. Its with the bidders and paypal that we have to be extra careful. The only single thing one should always remember with ebay and paypal is.... PAYMENT FIRST and ITEM SENDING NEXT.

I have not use ebay but with what I notice I think its safe to use there system. To be able to sell something I think you have to use credit card on registration and same for bidding. I think they have charge back policy as well for some complains with the purchase or products.

My partner use ebay and so far we have not been cheated yet. We love using it because it is convenient and you can get very cheap things in there.

So far I've had only positive experiences with eBay. The company wants to maintain and improve its credibility, so if you ever have a dispute you can talk to representatives about it. I've found that they have pretty attentive customer service. The couple times when I had a question about the selling process (while in the middle of a transaction) I just asked my question and it was resolved fairly quickly.

This is a tricky question but it can be answered very easily, yes ebay itself is safe because the company of ebay itself will not cheat you, the only problem that i have had is that they have overcharged me once and then they sent me an email without me even noticing it and told me about it and refunded it but thats beacause i said it was alright to take the money out of my account, I wouldn't suggest that, just pay it with your debit card. The second part is that the people on ebay an cheat you by not paying or sending you the item or it not being as described all you have to do is get in touch with paypal or ebay and they will help you get your money back. This is a very safe way to shop on the internet I love using it!

Little trick, never trust any website no matter the age or good comments, then take your time and be fully safe as you can, ie. dont give info that you shouldnt and check all the sellers or websites infomation as much as you can first, if it doesnt seem right then dont risk it.

good tip, if the offer is well to good to be true then stay away!

Yeah, I would agree to always use your discernment when using any Web site or other service. Even if people don't intentionally try to cheat you, there are always for any situation to get complicated and for there to be unfavorable consequences. I think eBay is safe, but in order for to make sure you are using it safely, be familiar with the FAQ and the TOS. Know what your rights are, and you will be better equipped to protect them.

Right, and that's why we have laws and terms of service, because people will cheat you if they can. You have to watch your back because chances are, no one else will do it for you. But like I said, eBay as the service is safe and they are accountable for what they do. Beyond that, you need to be extra careful, but don't expect the worse to happen.
