I'm an ebay member for a long time, and I don't recall ever to have entered credit card details. But then, I'm only a buyer on ebay...
I guess if you make a seller account however, the entry of credit card data is necessary for Ebay to balance the ebay fees, etc...

well i really don't know if we need credit card cause i join there but i am not a seller. i just look for cheap items but i don't see any cheap items around my area.

I believe that to buy is necessary. But for US Resident or Country affiliate, a normal Credit Card resolve. But for others countries only with International Credit Card, what is more complicated...
