| I want to withdraw funds and transfer to my bank account. I see Paypal charge 0.50p for this but my bank (Barclays) say they will charge a whacking £6 to accept the transfer! I think the bod I asked at Barclays was clueless and didn't know what they were talking about. Anyone here regularly transfer into their bank account - Barclays or otherwise? | |||

| Yes. I transfer mine to my Alliance & Leicester cheque account and they charge me nothing. So all I lose is the 50p PayPal charge. Bear in mind also that the 50p will come off the amount you choose to withdraw. So, if you want a straight £50.00 to go into your bank you need to withdraw £50.50 from your PayPal account. Hope this helps. Jaqy "SuperLeeds" <iloveleeds@leeds.com> wrote in message news:bfh4ou$72m$1@newsg4.svr.pol.co.uk... > I want to withdraw funds and transfer to my bank account. Perhaps the Barclays person thought it was funds coming in dollars, which they'd then charge you extra (6 pounds sounds as though it could be about right) to convert it into pounds for you? That's not how PayPal works. PayPal send an amount in pounds currency to UK bank accounts. I regularly transfer money from PayPal into my Royal Bank of Scotland current account, at no extra cost, other than PayPal's transfer fee. Viv Dunstan | |||

| Could someone with a Lloyds TSB account to which money is transferred from Paypal please tell me the correct name - I really dont want to lose £14 for a failed transfer - and how about UK Account numbers only having 8 digits and paypal showing 10? I will admit I've never used it to take money *out* of Paypal. The only hassle I had at the start was my name on the bank account and on my credit card didn't match - I just changed the bank account style of address - was easier than fiddling about with the credit card that Paypal had already accepted on record. | Paypal use BACs when transferring from themselves to uk banks. Its just like when you get paid at the end of the month or whenever. If banks started charging you to be paid I'd be really cheesed off. I'm actually slightly cheesed off at my bank because I went overdrawn on my student account so knew I would be getting £10 maintenace charge, it would have been nice if they'd told me though Craig Henry "SuperLeeds" <iloveleeds@leeds.com> wrote in message news:bfhe6b$fjh$1@newsg4.svr.pol.co.uk... > Muchos gracias everyone.
