the winning bidder contacted me after the sale and asked to confirm it was
for 2 weekend v tickets with camping
i replied that it was for saturdays concert and thats what the item listed
said nowhere did it say weekend, sunday or camping
and that she should of asked questions prior to bidding as she bid a few
days before its not like it was a last minute bid..
i said all wins are legally binding and what she planned on doing
how do i stand ??
and also it cost me over £8 in ending fees which i can get back from ebay i

Auction number please - it's too easy to say "do this do that" without
seeing both sides of the situation. It's unclear from your posting *which*
weekend event you are talking about - was your auction text as confusing and
garbled?

Post the number here and I'm sure we'll have an unbiased look at it for you,
chew it over, have a flame about what *we'd* have done, ask a lot more
questions ... then refer to you eBay help system which covers just about
everything you could ever want to aks and more.

Cheers,

Gran

across 4 stages though!

lets be honest, there is not much in that Ad that even hints at it being a
whole weekend

Let's also be honest and say there was nothing that specifically stated this
was a one day entry only no camping ticket.

I would suggest that the *big red oh so cool yet urgent and in yer face*
text on a black background (that exceeds the comfortable 600 X 800
resolution, thereby calling for sideways scrolling) and lots of lovely
pictures did little to calmly and clearly explain what was on offer -
however, the seller wants to know how to proceed next - not to rake over
what may have been or what could have been handled better.

So, does the winning bidder state they are not going to honour the bid? If
that is the case and the seller feels the bidder had adequate opportunity to
ask questions before bidding yet failed to do so, *and* that the auction
clearly and fully explained the nature of the item then I don't see a
problem in following eBay's NPB / FVF routine. However, I feel there may be
some doubt in the seller's mind that everything is as clear-cut as that -
hence the question to the NG.

The seller is hardly a newbie to the eBay game .... some you win, some you
lose. The real question here is "How would Flash Gordon handle this?".

Is it? I've seen a lot of tickets for sale, and assumed that if Ebay
objected, they'd get auto deleted. Not that I'd buy them, to be honest.

I hardly think the resolution or what colour the auction is going to make
any difference to any bidder, you just try and make yours stand out from the
crowd.

I would have said more to the original bidder than just ok, and get onto the
second one.

What should you do, claim your fees back, mail the winner and point out that
you need to be able to read english when you bid (not that they would read
it) and ask for the fees for having to list it a second time.

I`ve sold and bought for 3 years on ebay and which ever side your on, you
should know its legally binding and not to bid unless you want. They even
knew they had f**ked up when they wrote there first mail.

I have no time for bidders like that.

Gran
im sorry you don't like my style of sales page .. but i find a nice page
will sell better than a plain sale
i was asking the question more on the terms of . does the buyer legally have
to pay for the tickets ..
i know i can get end fee back via NPB .. the page i did was clear to me it
was a Saturday ticket sale and the buyer bid a few days before the end
i even cancelled a bid on last day as bidder realised it was a 1 day ticket
he bid on..
its not my problem people don't read sales properly . or bother to email
about item before bidding
its just a pain in the ass when u come to finalize a deal only to be told .
sorry i thought it was something else

Just hope you get it sorted out OK. Into every life a little rain must fall,
but it's usually followed by rainbows.
