Also, look at the category this auction was in:

Tickets & Travel > Tickets > Concert > Pop

Given that 'Tickets and Travel' is a top level category I suspect they may
be allowed. :o)

I strongly suspect that they do not.

"Statutory Instrument 2000 No. 2334
The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000"

"Right to cancel
10. - (1) Subject to regulation 13, if within the cancellation
period set out in regulations 11 and 12, the consumer gives a notice
of cancellation to the supplier, or any other person previously
notified by the supplier to the consumer as a person to whom notice
of cancellation may be given, the notice of cancellation shall
operate to cancel the contract.

(2) Except as otherwise provided by these Regulations, the effect
of a notice of cancellation is that the contract shall be treated as
if it had not been made.

(Regulation 13 (extract)

Exceptions to the right to cancel
13. - (1) Unless the parties have agreed otherwise, the
consumer will not have the right to cancel the contract by giving
notice of cancellation pursuant to regulation 10 in respect of
contracts -

(c) ...or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly"

As the concert is not I believe until mid August then it is most
unlikely you could claim the "expire rapidly" clause should apply.

Moreover, as you have apparently not complied with the DSR
requirements in your sale the cancellation period (normally 7 days)
is automatically extended to 3 months.

Forget this timewaster and offer them to the second highest bidder.

At £250 you'll not lose out by much.

Good Luck

Mark

but don't forget to file NPB (after 7 days) and neg and FVF (after 10).
You'll get your FVF fee back and - more importantly - the deadbeat will get
a black mark on their account.
