| Hmm. Auction closes for a DLT tape drive. No contact from winning bidder until my reminder by which time he informs me he has sent a cheque for the bid amount and will arrange for a courier to collect. I offer personal collection or delivery using my courier only as personal collections do not require packing materials etc. Am wondering whether to hand over the drive as it is seeing as the buyer has obviously decided he isn't going to pay for any and didn't even ask if he could send his own courier. As I work from home it now means I will have to sit in all day 'in case' the courier collects when I am not there. /rant. -- Best Regards Niel Humphreys Snowdon Computers | |||

I am now debating whether to: 1 - Hand the bare drive over 2 - Put in a box with a few bricks, or a couple of dead monitors I want to get rid of. 3 - Whack it in a massive box so it will pickup a volumetric charge? (ie CLink decide how much it should weigh based on the measurements of the box). - might get a fridge freezer box from Currys and get him a bulk charge too. mwaahaa -- Best Regards Niel Humphreys Snowdon Computers

If thats how much your courier charges you then you definitely need to find someone cheaper. The drive doesn't weigh that much (esp. a bare drive) and such an item by Parcelforce 48 would only have been about £12. I was going to bid, but was put off by the £20. True the winning bidder should have contacted you first, but I can see his point. Find out what courier he is using and you can find out when they will collect, then you wont have to wait in all day.

No delivery is £10 for Shipping and Handling, not just delivery, which for next day courier delivery plus packing materials, time etc is I think a fair price. It clear in the description and all any bidder has to do is deduct that from the total they are willing to pay and bid accordingly. > True the winning bidder should have contacted you first, but I can see his > point. > > Find out what courier he is using and you can find out when they will > collect, then you wont have to wait in all day. They will never know as it depends on how big the driver's round is on any given day and where he has to deliver to. It is more the principal of the thing than anything else. -- Best Regards Niel Humphreys Snowdon Computers
