I think the seller should leave feedback as soon as they have been paid, the
buyer has fully completed their side of the transaction so why should the
seller wait to leave feedback?

Tim.

I think feedback should not be visible to either buyer or seller until
both have left it.

But that would mean that valuable feedback warning of a scammer would never
be visible until the scammer left feedback to the buyer which obviously he
would never do.

Ahhh .. very true.

OK - feedback should have a default value of Negative unless the other
party amends it.

I'd go for neutral as a default.
Negative would result in too many accidental negs.

This isn't about you (necessarily) ;o), but if a buyer was reasonable they
would contact the seller first to sort out a dispute, however picky it was.
Other sellers should be able to know how picky/unreasonable their bidders
are - this can only be seen with neg fb after an unreasonable transaction.

If the seller leaves + fb for fast payment, they can't then change for bad
attitude problems from the buyer. Fast payment should still be included in
fb, if it were the case, but it's not the end of the transaction until both
parties are happy - or at least until the buyer receives the item.

As a seller I wait now. As a buyer, I email and leave feedback straight
away - although in a lot of cases fb has already been left for me. They're
lucky that I'm not picky.

Laura

Innocent but unspectacular until shown to be otherwise - sounds fair.
