| I have just been hit by this SCAM wholy supported by EBAY & PAYPAL. Neither of them will assist me in any way! I advertised an item and said that I would send it via First Class postage and gave an estimate of the postal cost (this was a big mistake). I did put that insurance wasnt included but could be added after, at the buyers expense. My item was bought by wjeremy97 who lived in CANADA so I therefore had to go to the post office and get another quote for postage. This was £1 more than I had quoted on my original sale which he complained about. Obviously this guy knew the rules better than I did because he asked that I send it via AIR MAIL but still complained about me increasing my UK postal quotation to keep the price down. I posted it and got a "Certifcate of Postage" and a "Postal receipt" from the post office. He then, months later complained to PAYPAL that he hadnt received it and they asked me to provide a "TRACKING number". You get a tracking number when you send something recorded delivery. I sent them copies of my "Certifcate of Postage" and a "Postal receipt". PAYPAL said that wasnt good enough and didnt prove anything and refunded him his money. I have therefore paid for an item, paid ebay to sell it, paid PAYPAL for the money transfer, paid royal mail to post it and PAYPAL simply refund his money leaving me out of pocket. The final kick in the teeth is that EBAY refuse to remove his negative feedback "package did not arrive at all. paypal couldn't do jack.should have known. Pissed" and simply keep sending me links telling me to resolve it myself with the buyer. EBAY wont refund me my listing fee as its over 45 days old! So the scam is this. If any EBAY seller sends something by first class mail and the buyer pays via PAYPAL. If the buyer then says its not arrived then PAYPAL debit the seller & credit the buyer with the whole amount. SELLERS are only covered if they can provide a TRACKING NUMBER which you get from RECORDED DELIVERY / SPECIAL POSTAGE ETC. Please be warned. | |||

This was not a scam. You were the one at fault on all accounts. I looked at your buyer's FB rating, and noted that he has a perfect FB rating of 100% from 161 unique trading partners in 191 transactions. The negative that he gave to you is the only negative he has ever given anyone in 380 or more transactions (since only approx 1 in 2 ever leave FB). It is you who has made a series of mistakes in this transaction, and not your buyer. 1. You must stick by any quote you give to a buyer, no matter what the outcome. You do not have the right to change your mind if and when you find out it may cost you more. 2. All items must be sent with valid tracking numbers to be protected by PayPal seller protection policies. 3. You have just 45 days to claim a refund of any fees paid to eBay. 4. The negative you received is not a violation of any eBay policy, and therefore there is no justification for its removal. 5. This buyer claims in the FB that he left for you that he did not get a refund through PayPal. Given his track record, few would not believe him, especially since you track record is only 88.2% Positive FB in a mere 12 transactions, and this was not even your first negative from a very unsatisfied customer SB | |||

It costs a lot more to post itemd to CANADA and it isnt reasonable to expect to pay the UK rate? >3. You have just 45 days to claim a refund of any fees paid to eBay. The BUYER didnt complain until long after the 45 days. Neither did paypal refund him until 2 months after the sale! >5. At the time of him leaving that comment he hadnt even begun the refund claim process. My point is that now that PAYPAL have given him a full refund if he refuses to remove the comment then EBAY should. One final point about percentages. You havent mentioned in your percentage review that his negative feedback is the only negative feedback I have received from a BUYER. The other one is from a Seller. >1. You havent mentioned in your percentage review that his negative feedback is the only negative feedback I have received from a BUYER. The other one is from a Seller. I have copied & pasted PAYPAL'S response to my appeal as you seem to be calling me a liar in your comment nymber 5. "Transaction Date: 7 Aug. 2004 Transaction Amount: -10.50 GBP Case Number: PP-047-751-125 Buyer's Name: Jeremy Wong Buyer's Email: wjeremy97@hotmail.com Unfortunately, the information you supplied is insufficient for us to track the shipment and confirm receipt of the merchandise. This being the case, we are unable to grant your claim appeal at this time. We appreciate your business and hope that this unfortunate incident does not deter you from continuing to use our service. To protect yourself from fraudulent buyers and transactions, we recommend that you follow the guidelines of our Seller Protection Policy.
