| Since Paypal is owned by Ebay all sellers that sell using PayPal are paying double commissions on their items. I for one intend to boycott PayPal and not accept any more payments through it. If all sellers protested, Ebay would have no choice but to change their policy of gouging their clients. Boycott the usurers! Torquemada | |||

| No. But it was bought by E-bay as a way to eliminate competition. Now it all stays in the family. And now that E-bay has eliminated the competition, they operate without restraint, billing clients twice, first on commisions from the seller, and again when they facilitate payment through Paypal. I think it is only fair and in their interest to facilitate payment from the seller, without gouging everybody in the process. It is a clever marketing strategy from E-bay, but it borders on thievery. | And you're an obvious ass-kissing bitch who works for E-bay. Nothing like covering your ass, right? If you don't want to utilize Paypal features, don't sign up for them. Hello - no one requires one with the other. 1st hint - stop taking Paypal if you don't believe their fees are worth the services you get. 2nd hint - stop selling on eBay if you don't believe their fees are worth the services you get. Is that really all too difficult to understand? | |||

| forces seller to use higher handling fee so one can do business on ebay. It has gotten to the point where the time and energy expended on chasing up slow- and non-paying bidders who are too lazy to mail a payment or who can't correctly address and stamp an envelope (or whatever other reason) costs me more than the PayPal fees. Of course, eBay has done much to encourage this mindset. They have also made the NPB process as complex as possible to encourage sellers to drop or forget or lose track of such cases. Of course, this was all done under the guise of "improvement" of services for sellers. Yeah ... right. More and more eBay's actions remind me of Microsoft's monopolistic and manipulative practices. And it's a drinking game entry: -- Two drinks for every time someone losing an argument on AMOE posts any variant of "You're a eBay/PayPal shill" -- Three drinks if the variant is "You're a eBay/PayPal employee" See http://www.boomspeed.com/scarletsmith/amoedrink.html for more fun.
