Default Fraud Form inside eBay

I read all the discussion about
the receiving Fraud/eBay emails to members
trying to get personal info...But I was INSIDE of eBay, trying to buy,
and it being my FIRST time to bid , and when I won, I someway or another
click something that brought a form on my 25' screen. (At this time I
didnt know about payPal.) I thought
this was the right credit Form, and started filling it out and come to
where it wanted my SS#.(?) It concerned me.....but I thought SO, this's
how eBay makes sure all members are protected, both buyers and sellers.
they really are serious about who becomes a member.......I type in my
SS#. and Submit. I find out later that I goofed.
Minutes later, I click on PayPal and I enrolled and used my card to Buy.
MY BIG Question is, where did that form come from.? I never was able to
find it again. eBay responded to my email, telling me they do not Have
such a Form that wood ask for such sensitive info. DO YOU ALL think it
was a PC Hacker, BUT how? How could they insert such a form inside of
eBay...hmmmm? It is such a mystery..

Default Fraud Form inside eBay

Good question bjay,
Was this a link from an e-mail or on Ebay's site?
A fake e-mail could do that.
Anyway, the damage is done. Besides, how many times have you written that
number on some long lost job application etc...The number has always been
out there somewhere, ya know?
Best I recommend is sign up with a credit watch/protection service and know
what's going on from week to week.
Try truecredit.com It works a treat.
Good luck.
