registration failure, live help failure

I have attempted to register on ebay a dozen times. Each time, I fill in
everything, then it tells me to go read my email and get a confirmation
code. That email never , ever comes to me. And, yes, I did input all the
fields correctly.

So I tried live help, which did not respond to any click or key stroke I
made.

How else to contact ebay or find out what's wrong?
