| I'm starting a project to develop a 3D Sonic - type game in DirectX 9. Help from programmers, 2D and 3D artists, and sound people is needed. The game will be targeted at Windows 2000 (though it will run on 98) and will be programmed in C++. Sound and graphics people who join may use either their own tools or ones developed for this project. Those who contribute will be paid when the finished product goes to market. Anyone who is interested please send e-mail to brosi@texas.net. Thank you. | |||

Short version: it's much better than all the other open source 3d engines out there. -- Cheers, www.indiegamedesign.com Brandon Van Every Seattle, WA Taking risk where others will not.

I liked the design more than Nebula personally (when I > looked into both of them). The design of Ogre might be fantastic. Show me industrial completeness, the shipped product. Ogre can't hold a candle to Nebula in this respect. Where's the company behind Ogre? For development velocity, Nebula is the clear winner. Now, it could be that one or the other is stronger at this-or-that. I have no idea about Ogre. I do know Nebula is designed to be a pretty landscaping engine, and Nebula 2 is DX9 shader centric. There's also www.catmother.com , very recently abandoned. It's got a demo, but the demo doesn't run on my machine. -- Cheers, www.indiegamedesign.com Brandon Van Every Seattle, WA Taking risk where others will not.

| Hi, Just wanted to add that I know William Brosi, and for him, making a game engine is not re-inventing the wheel, or something that is ultra complex or new to him. He has made many games and game engines, and I have seen them in action. They are amazing! Regards, Justin --- Programming not a job anymore, It's a way of life.
