Default Help with Blender and Mac OSX for game design

I'm at Indiana University and we are looking at using Blender on a roomful
of very robust machines but it locks when anyone attempts to save. anyone
know if Blender actually works on Macs with OSX? Any suggestions much
appreciated. Any luck we have will bew posted back to the list. We are
also looking to install Game Studio and Garage Games in PC labs. Any
results there will also be posted back.

Blender note from the tech team below.

Subject: Blender 2.28a

Thom,

We have installed your requested application, Blender 2.28a (most
recent) for OS X, on one of our test machines. The application
installs successfully and seems to work without any flaws until the
user tries to "Save" the current project/file. At that time, the
application "locks up" for an indefinite amount of time and must be
force-quit.

Do you have a comparable application you would like for us to install
instead of Blender?

We are willing to investigate this further and possibly try to work
with you and the vendor to find a fix, but the application will not be
deployed by the start of the Fall Semester 2003 nor can we guarantee
that this version of the application can be safely deployed at all.

We may find this error to be resolved with a simple fix (hopefully) or
it could be a bug for which the vendor is applying a fix in the 2.29
version.

Get beck to us with the next step you would like to take.

Thanks!

STC Mac Team
