Unfortuantely a PS2 "tool" i.e. dev kit costs about £20,000. Probably a bad
policy, but in the context of a several million pound development budget it
is just a minor expense.

What about the PS2 Linux Kit? Something could be developed for that.

Default BASIC game creators for consoles?

There is a pretty large PS2 Linux kit developer community and I guess that a
Basic game kit would be very useful to allow people to get their game ideas
up and running quickly. I know I would seriously consider buying it if it
existed.
