Not a bad idea at that. If I use an XP disk with SP2 installed, can I
do a non-destructive install? I'd really hate to have to put this
thing back together again.

Yes, that's also likely true. But I never had problems with it before
and this would appear unlikely to be router related. I do need to
upgrade though, it's still a B.

Sounds like scumware/malware to me.
Have you scanned your system for such?

If not, I'd suggest:
Download AdAware here:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/...e_personal.php

Install, update signatures and run the program; deleting everything it
finds then reboot

Download Spybot Search & Destroy here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Install, update signatures and run the program; deleting everything it
finds then reboot

That might fix your problem
