Windows XP Professional (ATI)Help

One of my friends has a Windows XP Professional computer made by ATI.
He has some problems with his PC at the moment, i've tried helping him but Zone Alarm seems to have blocked him due to something. If I could actually see this happening I would be able to help a bit but since i've never experienced something like this im not a 100% sure what is going on with his PC.
He seems to have alot of infections too, he can't get on his Internet Browser nor MSN but he is able to get on WM so he could tell me all this.

The only solution I could thing of was a Destructive System Restore, or what ever it is called. Only thing is I dunno if he has one or not. It should be like PC Angel, where you press F10 when your PC starts up but he says nothing happens. All I need is a little help like if his ATI does have a program like PC Angel so my friend can restore his computer.

does he only have Zone Alarm? or does he have some other virus software as well?

He has Zone Alarm, I don't think he would of been able to install Zone Alarm if he had another Anti Virus program on.

the problems can be fix,you will have to format your windows operating system then reinstall it

He have to install Mcafee antivirus program and have to detect it,s virus and then find its soloution for soloution search is best and then he have to post
