The best Virus software

What would you say is the best Virus software, and why?

AVG because it is free

Also though norton i have found embeds it's self far too much into the O/S, macafee is not bad though results a year or so back they didnt perform that well compared to the lesser known.

I have used in the past Trend micro Housecall, good free online scanner. And also http://www.kaspersky.com/ i found to be quite good.

I fell out with zone alarm when trying to uninstall it. It just didnt want to gooo

I think I will try this AVG Free it looks good, that macafee I have read some really bad things about.

I have it for 52000+ days cause of a sweet keygen ^_^
I have the best ZoneAlarm there is for FREE and full access to it and it rockz =P
It caught a virus I download..Saved me so much ^_^

Free anti virus, firewall, and spyware software are all junk, in comparison to retail software. Sure, they might protect against basic stuff, but think about it, if you could buy stock in a medical company that did absolutely no research or a company that is paying developers to come out with the latest and greatest which would you do? Even if the retail stuff costs more, you are paying for more updates, and better research. Think about it, why would these companies offer a free service?

didnt think of that Slothx311, I went for AVG Free in the end and I like it as it seems to be doing the job

Hmm.. I think this would help many... I love playing with security softwares.. and here are the results...


6) McAFEE (McASSfee) - I hate this one... every goddamnes virus seems to know how to take it off your system startup.. and some disable it. Many times you see that its running, when it really has been disabled by cunning rogues!

5) Norton, many viruses disable norton antivirus. If you really want to use norton, then go in for Norton Corporate. It is faster and doesnt F@#! your system speed.

4) Zonealarm, is too slow an anti virus. It slows the computer down to the point that you wanna kill it! It does detect most of the viruses.. but just tooo slow.. so not for me!

3) Nod - this is a good anti virus.. picks up all viruses.. only problem is too many false positives!

2) Kaspersky - Its really very good. Picks 100%. I love this one!


1) AVG - This is the one that's my personal favourite. I use the professional version.. hmm using cracked ones... not that i am proud of it...

Avg is small and fast. Does not eat your ram and speed. And detects 100%

However, try to avoid avg free as when it does pick up a strong trojan... it might not be able to delete it.. you would get a screen popping up every second asking you what to do! - In short it lacks automatic healing..

So AVG Professional guys!


P.S: I use both kaspersky and avg on my comp (alternate days)
