Hi,

My computer did some tricks and one of my important files was gone. What tool to use to recvover it with maximum chances? OS XP, NTFS.

The tool to use is imho Active@ Undelete. It is very powerful and can create it's bootdisk in case you can't boot normally

If it didn't work after you using the system restoring, you have to try some tools for that.Can you explain exactly? And how you lost your files? Then what did you do after missing the data?

I permanently erased a folder forgetting that contained valuable file.
In the end I used active undelete and that third party recovery tool were able to restore. thank you very much for recommendations!
