what security software should I be using?

The title says it, mostly.
I have no idea what kind of security software I need to be safe from viruses, trojans, spyware, spam and all that. So what are you using, what can you recommend?
I don't mind spending a bit of money, and if possible I would just want one programming instead of a whole bunch of them.

Kapersky Anti Virus, best one around imo. It finds more than spybot, mcafee and various other programs put together.

well this is a good question, as I use computers every day and go on the internet all the time, well I find that having anti virus software that I seem to get more problems, so I dont use anything

But I check and within the last year I have had just 2 viruses and I removed these my self, Please note I still scan with AVG FREE and thats it, but AVG FREE doesnt find all bad things

Hi everybody.
I think, my problem has somethin' in common with this thread. I need a good file shredder, can u recommend one?
Somebody in another forum told that Shred Agent is good (http://shredagent.com), does anybody work with it?

Never used it my self, or even herd of it sorry

also file shreding I wouldnt worry about I just bin mine and if it has info in that needs to be safe ai mess the file up before hand

The key to remember when looking at security is just because it is a big brand and expensive doesnt mean it is good.

Virus, AVG free download scanner, Trend micor free online scan and other's provide just as good and better performance in most cases than a paid for version.

One of the best places i have found for information and utilities for pc's is

All programs are free of adware and spyware, site also have user reviews and rating and contains a large number of freeware and shareware prodcuts. Well worth a vist before paying for products.

i like to have my computer real safe . some of the site i end up on lol . i use macafee interprise and zonealarm for a firewall . which keeps me going

nah i dont think so . it slows it down just a little bit but not to much , but i think its good and keeps my computer safe .
