| MK PitStop Member | How do you know which BHO is safe? I recently deleted a BHO identified by Hijackthis. As it turns out, the BHO is identified by Spybot as related to McAfee, which I have replaced with Norton several months ago. I suppose that was a safe BHO. But another one, 4da4616d-7e6e-4fd9-a2d5-b6c535733e22, is persistent. I couldn't delete it via Spybot, that is, after I remove it, it reinstalls itself. I believe it is a remnant of the SpywareQuake trojan that I got about February or March. It is a homepage hijacker, but it doesn't seem to work anymore without the rest of the components. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | Thanks for the link. I searched for the second BHO using the search tab and it pulled up a long list of *.tmp threats. How I recognize a few from the scans I ran with Norton! | ||
