| MK PitStop Member | hi all, aside from removing programs in a laptop and defragmenting it. what other way can you make a laptop run smoother and have a lot more disk space in it? | ||

| MK PitStop Member | Are you using Windows Vista or XP? If you are using Vista, this piece of information may be a little help to you. Usually a lot of space is stored as Temporary files if you put ur laptop in Sleep or Log of mode. This can be converted back as free space by cleaning up the disk regurlarly. I usually do it my laptop and sometimes get free spaces upto 20 GB. You could try it if you use Vista. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | Delete unwanted stuffs. Delete temp files. If you are using windows xp you can also delete dllcache folder located in system32. If you are desperate then you can also delete help files. | ||

i know this may sound stupid but like i keep on saying, im not really knowledgeable on computers so i have to ask this. where are those stuffs that you are talking about located? lol.. help files? the help files in all the programs you mean? i thought thats part of the program and if deleted the program will also be deleted

c:\windows\temp\... Anyways better dont touch it if you dont have much knowledge about computers... And yes you can still clean these files if you are using XP also. There will be an option called Disk cleanup in Start < Programs < Accessories < system tools You can use it fromthere... | |||
