| I have and frequently use a connector that I got at a computer for about $5 ( I've also seen at computer shows). The connector is simply metal bent to mate an IDE connector to a laptop drive. ( Like something that you would solder onto a motherboard) Another version ( I have one in front of me) has a male IDE connector with a 5V power connector ( like an IDE drive) on one side and the other side of that conection fits a laptop drive. Molded onto the connector, all it says is ' 2.5" HDD Adapter '. Again , I got it in Cambridge MA at MicroCenter . I don't know the official name of it, but I can tell you that when I bought it, it was toward the end of the middle aisle across from the registers. I've also seen them at computer shows. The sellers usually have a shoebox full of them and an index card with the price ( maybe $3). They are VERY handy when I want to image to/from a laptop drive. Pop it out - hook it up ( to a desktop Pc ) and do a ghost image - done in a few minutes. While I'm using it, I'm generally just laying the drive on a shoebox / shelf etc next to the tower Pc. If it's something that you want to permanently use in a desktop pc, try this for $10: http://www.microcenter.com/byos/byos...ct_id=22324 0 Bobb "Hemant Mohapatra" <hemant.mohapatra@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1144945760.033145.218320@t31g2000cwb.googlegr oups.com... > Hi, > > I have a HP Pavilion ZV5000 Laptop which boots up well but nothing > shows up on screen. | While I use those also, for routine use a USB adapter is more convenient. - Bobb - wrote: > Also try google: > > http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=hdd+2.5+adapter > got me 4.4 million hits.
