Default Backup to local D drive

Can someone please provide me operational specs on using W98SE backup for backing up my system (C crive,2.94GB) to my D drive (4GB).Both are FAT32 and I have used DOS Scandisk on both prior to backup.

The backup freezes, usually on the windows/system directory and always while copying a .DLL file.No error messages and no escape, have to cold boot and watch scandisk do it's thing.Scandisk finds data with no file association on D and I find my .qic filename with zero butes stored. Also for some unknown reason it installs a copy of the recycle bin with strange file names on the D drive.

This has worked in the past but from time to time I got a message that my data exceeded the size limit of the .qic file.

I don't know if I have a problem or how to troubleshoot it or if I am exceeding some specification.

I have no problem backing up other directories but it seems to be associated with the windows directory.

I just found your forums and find them very informative.
