| Member Level 3 | Myself I build/upgrade. I've never bought a prebuilt PC. It just seems so much cheaper to add what you need rather than having an overexpensive box of generic stuff that doesn't suit your purposes. Building your own means more stuff for your money. I also have several other pcs which have been built from the cast offs from my main PC which is a nice advantage. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | When I'm buying a PC for myself, I phone into a computer company, list them all components I want and they built a system for me. They do this for no extra charge and - the main - I get 2 years warranty on the whole system. If I built it myself, I have only one year warranty for particular components. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | That sounds like a nice deal, Modric. My computer is prebuilt. I wish it had been customized more to our preferences, but the store had packages. We had to choose one. | ||

I also have selected the hardwares that I wanted and the store that setup my computer didn't charge me more. I even had a discount from buying all the parts from them. But if you don't like to be bothered by thinking which is the best hardware to select then buy a prebuilt PC. | |||

| Member Level 3 | I find building myself is best as you can get the parts you want and often cheaper than packages offered buy computers stores, sure it's a bit more travelling but it's worth the effort. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | It seems there is pretty different marketing politics regarding components/whole systems in different countries. I only found IBM, Compaq/HP...computer system as expensive. You pay 20% prize over other comparable PC systems for them. | ||
