| Member Level 3 | Do you remember your first EVER desktop? I do - it's an old 486DX CPU with 4MB EDO RAM, stagnant sound card and video card with a generic CD-ROM. With it is a 14" monitor complete with the clackety on/off toggle switch, a keyboard that's almost heavier than a mini skateboard, and a wired Compaq mouse, which I believe is the only pride point left in there. | ||

| Member Level 3 | The first PC I got I built myself. I was working and living at home at the time so had plenty of spare cash. I bought all the most expensive/fastest components I could find and it added up to around £2000. I ended up with a screamingly fast (or so I thought at the time) Pentium 200 MMX with 32 Mb Ram, 3.2 Gb hard drive, 4mb graphics card, 4x CDROM... | ||

| MK PitStop Member | My first: 386 with Win 3.1. Sound card didn't work, I opened the box -- and became a PC maker and reseller from then... My first touch of computer ever: In a company I worked, a coworker had a PC without a CD. I bought a brand new 4x speed Mitsumi CD and built it in with one move (with just reading a tutorial). | ||

| MK PitStop Member | First computer I've ever seen was ZX81 and then ZX Spectrum. These machines looked just like today's notebooks. If you wanted to load a program on the computer you had to do it from a cassete driver. Programs were all on cassetes. ZX Spectrum was mainly for games and for first programmers. They were not costly - about $100 or so. | ||

| Member Level 2 | My first is a 386 running on Windows for Workgroups 3.11 with 8MB RAM... kinda slow and then upgraded to a 486 shortly after. I played a lot of games in that one, and I don't know if any of you guys recall that game called Exile II: Ruined World. Honestly I miss Windows 3.11 more than my system ![]() That reminds me.. I ought to play that game again, just for a nostalgic ride! | ||
