Help!! windows\system32\config\system corrupt!!

We just got our second computer after it being repaired and it was set up in my room and I decided I didn't want it there anymore so I took it down to the guest room and every time I turn it on it says

Windows could not start because the following file is missing
or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup
using the original setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair

well I put the windows disk in the drive to repair it and it says cant locate hard drive and i know the hard drive is not crashed because this same problem happened last time except it didn't come up with the message saying
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is missing or corrupt and I don't wanna have to send it somewhere to be repaired. So does anybody know how I could fix this problem????

hmm sounds like a funny one, I take it all was ok before you moved the system?

if so, try and open the system and push the cables all in for the hard drive and motherboard just to make sure there all in correct, after this remove all hands and switch system on to see what happens.

come back the and say, this is just a little thought I have of many

I tried it and nothing happened and other suggestions why??
