This is why I love MKpitstop. (thumbs up smiley)
Scot you have hit the spot, I mean this site has given me the information that I have been trying to extract from others (friends who know about computers).
Thank you for taking the time to one, find the site and two, post it. It is great.
Now I can learn all there is to know aboout building your own computer and avoid pitfalls (picked up a few tips from the forum already) and perhaps one day in the distant future, at my own leisurely pace put together a computer. Now that would be something to laugh out loud about! :-)
Grateful. (thumbs up smiley)

What sound advice Scot, thanks. As it happens a friend has given me an old Compaq, which I took various bits out of to get my own computer up and running again. Then there was the lingering thought, 'why don't you rebuild it or better still build one from scratch?'

Well after hearing that you have blown up a few - I am not so sure. LoL!

No, seriously, I have more than a passing interest in computers now and with a spare one next to me tempting me everyday - who knows that day may be sooner than I think to becoming a reality.

One thing I must ask as I have not heard or read anything about it, what did you do to cause your computer to blow up? That kind of pitfall I most certainly want to avoid.

Edit: Manual of motherboard? I never knew that, thanks. Every little helps. Now I have to find out which one it is - easy! :-) Thanks again
