| MK PitStop Member | First, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I wasn't sure if I should put it here, desktop, or harddrive, but I put it here because I saw another similar thread here. I just purchased a new computer from Dell, and I bought it right away because the sale was a good deal compared to their other sales. I'd be using this computer mainly for word processing and games. So, my question is that with the following specs, would it run games like world of warcraft (they say with the new expansion, they'd be improving the graphics), guild wars, and starcraft 2 (when it comes out) properly? I don't mind having to put the graphic settings in game to the lowest, but I just want to make sure they'd at least be playable. Inspiron 531 Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (2.80GHz, 1Mx2) 2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT- DDR3 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition From what I read, Vista uses 1gb of ram, so that leaves me with another 1gb which iirc should be enough for WoW. The Athlon 5600 was the best option they had available, as well as the 256 Geforce 8600gt. Anyway, would this work fine with the above mentioned games? Thank's for your help. | ||

| Member Level 3 | It should run the game well. The only downfall I think is going to be Vista. The 2 GB of RAM should be suitable, but if the game lags a bit check your RAM usage. The only other issue is going to be compatibility with Vista and Direct X. | ||

| MK PitStop Member | I bought it when it was on sale. After $350 off, it came out to a little less than $1000 after tax. Came with a Samsung 20 inch widescreen lcd, 300gb hd, 13 in 1 port, and a bunch of other stuff that I didn't list above. Without the monitor, it was $800. | ||
