Any suggestions on my Config?

I am planning to get a new desktop this week:

And here is the config I have in mind:

Processor : Intel® Pentium® D processor 830 90 nm, LGA775 2x1MB L2 3 GHz 800 MHz

Motherboard: Intel® Desktop Board D945PAW

Ram: DDR2 1 gig, 667 mhz

With normal addon's

dvd writer, flatron monitor, 5.1 music....


I basically use my pc, to download tons of movies, music and software.

Do photoshop, adobe premier and run a few heavy softwares..

mostly i run heavy softwares, two at a time.



So my questions is... is going in for a pentium D processor advisable?

OR would this one be sufficient : Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 531
supporting Hyper-Threading Technology 90 nm, LGA775 1MB L2 3 GHz 800 MHz

GOt my comp... intel d 3 giga..

HAd to get intel coz AMD generates way too much heat. Its okay for people in western places where the temp is low.. I am in a tropical country and the temps high too... so can't use AMD for longs instances without airconditioning...

Dude... this comp is awesome.. it takes me 15 seconds to start my comp!!

I havent yet used demanding s/w yet.. will see how they work on this

Hi well,

My advice is Just add extra 1GB RAM it will help you when you switching between multiple windows,all application are open with high speed...

Go with High configuration so that you stay with another 5 years with the new system,...
I bought a Desktop on 2002 that time I bought P-III Ram I upgrade Recently yo 512MB.... But I also Plan to buy a Intel based higher end system end of this year..
